The FDK is made especially to prevent the spreading of fire between adjacent rooms, this is particularly important in hospital operating theatres, as patients undergoing surgery cannot be evacuated quickly.

About NCA S100 Fire Damper
CE marked curtain type fire damper, assessed against the requirements of BS EN 15650
Functionality
During normal conditions, the curtain-type blade pack is recessed into the damper header and retained in place by a fusible link, leaving the duct open to airflow. Upon exposure to temperatures exceeding 72°C the fusible link will split, and the blade pack will be fully extended by springs to shut down the duct – impeding the spread of smoke and fire.
FDK casings to enclose said damper installation
2 no. casings, 1 no. on the inlet, high-pressure side of the wall, and 1 no. on the outlet, low-pressure side of the wall.
The Aercon LFA air pressure stabiliser will be located on the side of the wall that the fire damper installed into.
